Microblogging

For those of you who like to think ahead.... In week 3, I'll introduce you all to the topic of blogging. Each of you will create a blog of your own. You'll use your blog to voice your opinions and tell us about your discoveries during Learning 2.0.

Interestingly, microblogging is gaining popularity. It is a form of blogging that allows users to create and publish short text messages via the web, email, an instant message, or text messaging.

Twitter is a very popular microblogging web site. Other popular web 2.0 sites like MySpace are incorporating microblogging features.

A new microblogging service --- Soup.io was reviewed this week at Mashable. Check it out at the following URL: http://mashable.com/2007/10/30/soupio-microblogging/.

What's next in blogging? How can libraries use blogging to create a more interactive user experience?
